Your baby’s umbilical cord stem cells are a
perfect match for your baby
and have a strong probability of matching
siblings, in case of a live-saving stem cell
transplant. Additionally, with cord blood stem
cells, it is not always necessary to have a perfect
match for a transplant.

Stem cells are powerful.
They have the ability to create and regenerate our
organs, blood, tissue and immune system, and are
responsible for growth and healing throughout
our lives.

Stem cells collected from umbilical cord blood (in
a painless procedure) are used to treat many
blood disorders, including leukaemia,
lymphoma and other blood cancers.

Cord tissue stem cells may be used for
future regenerative therapies,
e.g. tissue, muscle and cartilage repair.
Trials are underway to potentially use stem cell
therapies to treat autism, cerebral palsy, diabetes,
spinal injuries and a growing list of others
